Man Arrested For Defiling Girl, 14, With Down Syndrome

The Police in Ogun State have arrested a 25-year old, Seyi Ajiboye, for allegedly forcefully having carnal knowledge of a 14-year old girl (name withheld) who is a Down syndrome patient.

P.M.EXPRESS reports as was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, on behalf of the Ogun State Commissioner of Police.

DSP Oyeyemi said that the suspect was arrested following a report lodged at Agbado Divisional Headquarters by the victim accompanied by her parents on 8th March, 2019.

Oyeyemi stated that the victim with the Down Syndrome complained that while she was on her way back from a church service at Oluwalogbon Street, Abule Ijoko, the suspect who resides in the area lured her into his room, forcefully removed her under wear and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
She stated further that the suspect increased the volume of his musical set to the maximum therefore making it impossible for people around to hear her screaming.
On the strength of the report, the DPO Agbado Division, CSP Olatunji Omonijo, led detectives to the area where the suspect was promptly arrested. He was said to have made confessional statements to the effect that he actually committed the crime. The victim has been taken to the hospital for medical treatment and report.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.
