Man Arrested For Defiling Girl, 2

A man, one Victor Anyegbu, has been arrested in Lagos for allegedly defiling a 2-year old girl by putting his finger into her anus.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Alafia Street in Orisumbare area of Lagos where they reside.

The suspect was arrested after he forcefully inserted his finger into the victim’s anus which caused heavy bleeding and the victim cried ceaselessly.
It was gathered that Anyegbu was inside his apartment watching a pornographic film when the victim strayed into his room. He was said to have carried the victim, removed her pant and inserted his finger into her anus. In the process, he injured the victim; she bled uncontrollably while he used a cloth to stop it to no avail.
The mother of the little girl, who heard her cry, then went into Anyegbu’s room and discovered that she was bleeding profusely through her anus. She raised alarm which attracted other neighbours and the suspect was asked what he did to the victim. He confessed that he was tempted to insert his finger into her anus and injured the girl.

The matter was reported to the police at Ejigbo Division and Anyaegbu was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command where he detained for interrogation.
After interrogation, he was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement which attracts heavy penalty.
The court denied him bail and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody following the application made by the prosecutor, Supol E. Ayorinde, to the Court that the matter to be referred to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 8th April, 2019, for report of the DPP to be ready.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable for the offence he allegedly committed.
