Man Arrested For Operating Illegal Weapons Manufacturing Outfit

A middle aged man and metal fabricator, Mr. Ponsak Magani has confessed that he manufactured and supplied locally made pistols to criminals, after he was arrested and paraded by the Police Command in Asaba, Delta State.
The police also recovered some guns which Magani had produced and was yet to supply to his undisclosed clients, which the police kept as exhibits at the Command.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the arrest followed the efforts to mop up arms in the state by the Operatives of Special Anti- Robbery Squad, SARS on November 7.
The suspect was arrested on a tip-off at Ogbe-Owele quarters in Ibusa area of Delta State where he secretly produced the guns before he was eventually discovered and apprehended.
Police source said that Magani had been highly involved in the supply of weapons during communal crisis in his home state, Plateau State.
Other items recovered from him were one drilling machine, welding machine, diesel engine generator among other items.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Zanna Ibrahim who briefed pressmen during the parade said that the arrest of Magani was a major breakthrough for security operatives who had made sacrifices and intensified efforts towards checkmating the proliferation of arms in the state and the country at large.
The suspect confessed that he had manufactured many guns for his clients but he refused to disclose their identities.
He revealed that he sold them for between N5,000 to N15,000 depending on the type.
He equally disclosed that he learnt the art of gun manufacturing from BUTECH in Plateau State.
The Police Boss assured that they will continue further Investigations to ascertain his clients before charging him to court.
