Preparations for the rigging of 2019 general elections may have kick started by some political parties following the arrest of a 65-year old man for alleged mass production of fake INEC voter’s cards by the police in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Mr. Goriolla Ogunfile was arrested by the police at Area M Command, Idimu, Lagos over the alleged crime.

Mr. Ogunfile was arrested at his office located at Buraimoh Street in Itire area of Lagos after the police raided the place on a tip- off. It was gathered that the police also recovered some cards and two lab tops which the suspect was using for the designing and printing of the fake cards.

What still baffled many were the motive and the person who may have given him such huge contract to produce the cards without the authority of INEC. It was gathered that the police at Isheri Oshun Division during routine checks had arrested a suspect with the fake cards and he mentioned Ogunfile as the producer and supplier, hence the police raided the place, arrested him and recovered the items as an exhibits.

He was charged to court and he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor did not object his bail but asked the court to give stringent bail conditions to the defendant to enable him to come to court to face trial.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O.Shomade granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 5 June, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that despite the fact that Ogunfile was charged to court, the police had not concluded the investigations and were working towards arresting those behind his illegal activities.
