A 25-year old graduate of a popular university, Mr. Bernard Ogbongha Sunday, has landed in trouble in Lagos as he allegedly stole N1.4m while trying to assuage the members of his cult group in his attempt to quit the group.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Sunday had received constant threats to his life as the cult group had insisted that he will not quit or they will kill him. He then attempted to sort himself with money in order to be free. He allegedly stole his employer’s N1.4m and reportedly gave it to the group in exchange for freedom.

The alleged theft took place at the company known as Five OOS Limited, located at Jakande Estate, Ejigbo area of Lagos, where he was employed as a senior manager and entrusted with the sale of Huggies diapers.

His problem took a turn for the worst as the company discovered the fraud, arrested and handed him over to the police for prosecution.

According to the police, the suspect sold the items to the tune of the said amount and converted it to his personal use without the knowledge of the owner, Mrs. Enigbokoa Felicia. However, when the sales audit was conducted, it was discovered that the money was missing and he was unable to account for it. He was taken to the Police at Ejigbo Division where he admitted and explained what happened and promised to refund the money later.

The police found him culpable and charged before Ejigbo Magistrates court on Tuesday for stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, did not oppose his being granted bail but asked the court for a date for the trial.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O. Shomade granted him bail in the sum of N1.3m with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 13th August, 2018.

When P.M.EXPRESS contacted Sunday, he said that he was under constant threat by the cult group and had to use the money in exchange for his life, which has landed him in big trouble.
