Man Bites Off Rival’s Ear In Public Brawl

A 27-year old, Musa Jubril, will live the rest of life without his right ear after he engaged his rival, Henry Okpeki, in a brawl, he bit off his right ear and vomited it on the ground in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the doctors confirmed when he was rushed to a hospital that the ear was already dead and could not be fixed back any longer.

The incident happened at Amoo Street in Isheri Oshun area of Lagos where they reside.

It was gathered that the duo had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter which led to them engaging in a public brawl. During the fight, Okpeki was said to have targeted Jubril, held his head, drew him close to his mouth and bit off his ear.
The fight ended abruptly as Jubril was said to have bled profusely and he was rushed to the hospital where it was confirmed that the ear was dead and he received treatment.
The matter was reported to the Police at Isheri Division and Okpeki was arrested and charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for assault by biting off the ear.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector G. Simon, did not oppose his being granted bail but asked the Court for a date for hearing.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 10th June, 2019.
