A 32-year old man, Tunde Omosola, has been arrested after he was allegedly caught sleeping with an under aged girl, 9, in Ijora area of Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the alleged rape took place at Ireti Owoseni Street, Ijora Badia area of Lagos, where they reside.
The man, Tunde, reportedly lured the victim to his apartment, locked his door from inside before he removed her pant and sexually penetrated her.
However, the alleged dastardly act was exposed after they were caught and the victim revealed how Tunde had lured and engaged her in sex romp.
The matter was reported to the Police and he was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation.
During interrogation, the victim revealed how it all happened, which made the man, Tunde Omosola, to be speechless.
The Police found him culpable and later charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence. The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered the defendant, Tunde, to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail.
The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the defendant will be in prison custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.
However, the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP report finds him culpable and recommends that he should be tried for defilement which may even attract life imprisonment if found guilty.
