Man Charged For Sleeping With 14-Year Old Daughter For 3 years

A court in Lagos has ordered that a 36-year old man, Mr. Eshiet Promise, be remanded in prison custody for engaging his 14-year old daughter in sex romp for three years.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the alleged sexual assault took place at their house located at Ogbeni Street in Sangotedo area of Ajah where they resided.

He was arrested after the victim became tired of the sexual exploitation which she said had started since the year 2015 and remained unabated.
Police source said it meant that Mr. Promise was the one that deflowered her and had been sleeping the victim since she was 11-year old.

The victim was said to have faced trauma and emotional challenge and did not know how to reveal that her father had been sleeping with her. But as such molestation continued, she was said to have resisted, raised alarm and exposed her father to their neighbours.

The matter was reported to the police at Gender Section of the Command; Mr. Promise was arrested and detained. At the Command where he admitted claiming that he was tempted to do so. The victim was rescued and sent to rehabilitation home for treatment.

He was charged before the Ogba Magistrates court for defiling his daughter.
The prosecutor, Inspector Christopher Danny, informed the court that the victim suffered emotional trauma and asked the court to use its discretion on the bail.
However, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, denied him bail and did not take his plea.
The court ordered him to be remanded in prison and directed the prosecutor to send the file to DPP for advice.

P.M. EXPRESS gathered that the victim has been taken to Mirable Centre where she was undergoing rehabilitation for the truama caused by her father who was supposed to care for her.
