A father of four children, identified as Baba Segun, was reportedly found dead after drinking the poisonous insecticide known as Sniper in his house in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Segun Olowokere Avenue off Ile Ero Avenue in Ijegun area of Lagos where he resides with his family.

It was gathered that the late Segun returned home on Saturday night with the substance which he bought without the knowledge of his wife. He was said to have drank the substance, kept the container beside him and waited to die quietly. But when the substance began to react inside his body, he raised alarm which woke up his wife. She went where he slept and he pointed to the empty container of the Sniper insecticide beside him and nodded that he drank it. His wife then raised alarm and immediately rushed him to a hospital for treatment with the help of their neighbours.
However, before they could get to the hospital, he died on the way and doctors merely confirmed him dead. He was taken away from the hospital and buried at an undisclosed cemetery.
When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited the house, both the deceased’s wife and children were not around. One of their neighbours said they moved out after the incident.

What would have made the late Segun to terminate his life was not known yet and some of their neighbours who confirmed the incident expressed shock over the ugly incident. They described the late Segun as an easy going person, who had lived in peace with his neighbours for many years.

Sniper, an insecticide for insects and roaches, has suddenly become a substance for suicide, which has caused several deaths in many homes in recent times. According to the residents, it is affordable and depressed people easily lay their hands on it in order to terminate their lives nowadays.
