Man Dumps Single Lady After Obtaining Her N.5m

A single lady (name withheld) suffered a serious heart break in Lagos after she gave money to one Chukwumezie Chibueze,  to set up a business only to be dumped after the business become successful for another woman.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ago in Okota area of Lagos where they met and started a relationship that led to her giving him such amount of money.

It was gathered that Mr. Chibueze met the lady and complained that he needed money to add to his business and because they were already in a relationship, the lady gave him N500,000 with the hope to secure their future relationship.

However, when the business grew and Chibueze became successfully, he started dating another woman and was said to be planning to get married to her. The lady then confronted him and asked to know what was wrong with her for him to think of getting involved with another lady not minding what she did for him but Chibueze insisted that he had made up his mind.
When she realised that she had been dumped, she asked him to refund her money so that she will move on with her life but he refused claiming that she freely gave him the money without any condition.
The matter was reported to the police who arrested Chibueze and charged before Isolo Magistrates court.
The police alleged that the defendant defrauded the victim under false pretence by obtaining the money from her to invest in business since 2017 but refused to return it.
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah, did not oppose his being granted bail.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. O.A. Adegbite, granted Chibueze bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 5th October 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS confirmed the real name of the victim but withheld it because of the trauma of the incident on her since it happened.
