Man Sends Wife Away, Sleeps With 12-Year Old Daughter

The police have arrested a man who sent away his wife and started sleeping with his 12-year old daughter before he was exposed in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that though the police did not disclose his identity but claimed that the suspect was undergoing interrogations under the supervision of the Gender Section of the Command, Lagos.

This was confirmed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Imohimi Edgal, at the State Command in Lagos.

The police boss said that this goes to show that the community policing and safety partnership project was working and criminals have no hiding place in the state. He said a good Samaritan reported the matter on behalf of the victim on 24th June, 2018, when the victim stopped and begged the woman to accommodate her in her house. The woman asked to know why she was making such a request; the victim revealed that her father had been sleeping with him in their house and she was no longer safe.
The matter was investigated by the Gender Section of the Police Command and it was discovered that the mother of the victim had separated from the father some years back. Thus, she was taken to her grandmother in Ogun State.

However, on 22nd April, 2018, the father went and brought her to his house in order to live with her in Lagos. Since then, he had been defiling her to the extent that she became afraid that he might destroy her future and impregnate her.

CP Edgal said that during interrogation, the suspect who was a commercial driver admitted but blamed it on the devil. He said that the victim had been rescued and taken to Mirable Centre for medical examination and rehabilitation.
Th police boss said that the suspect will definitely be charged to court for defilement. Edgal expressed his worry over the increase in the rate of defilement especially by parents on their children and advised that there should be change of mindset because it was alien to our society.
