Man Stabs Drunken Friend To Death

A 28-year old man, Oni Olohunwa, reportedly angrily stabbed his drunken friend to death for disturbing him during a party.

The incident happened on Sunday 5th May, 2019 at Ogijo area of Ogun State.

According to the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was arrested following a report by one Wasiu Raheem, who contacted Ogijo Police Division on the matter. He said that the suspect and the victim were both attending a party but the victim got drunk and started misbehaving. While the suspect was trying to caution him, argument ensued  between them and the suspect brought out a knife with which he stabbed the deceased on the chest and back.

The DPO Ogijo Police Division, CSP Baba Muhammed, on hearing the report quickly swung into action. He detailed his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested before he could escape.

The victim, Baraka Taiwo, was rushed to a nearby hospital but he died while receiving treatment. His corpse has been deposited at OOUTH Sagamu for post mortem examination.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bashir Makama, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
