Manager Arrested For Stealing Company’s N22m Worth Of Products

A 32-year old Warehouse Manager of Learn Africa PLC,  Abayomi Samuel, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the company’s products worth N22m. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at No. 52 Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja-Lagos, where the company is located.

 

According to the Police, the suspect was employed as a warehouse manager between January, 2024 and January, 2025. Within the period, he allegedly stole the products and diverted the money to his personal use.

 

However, the company later discovered and demanded for the money but he claimed that he actually diverted it for personal use.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at MAN Centre Division. He was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

 

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charge read:

“That you Abayomi Samuel ‘m’ 32yrs, a Warehouse Manager of Learn Africa Plc, situated at No. 52 Oba Akran Avenue, Ikeja-Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, sometimes between January 2024 and January 2025, did steal the sum of N22,000,000:00k (Twenty-Two Million Naira only,) belonging to Learn Africa Plc by diverting it into your personal use, and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos state of 2015.”

 

He pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ihkayere, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, L.A. Owolabi, granted him bail in the sum of N300,000 with with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
