Director General of World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom, on Tuesday, said that the new normal associated with the covid-19 pandemic has come to stay.

“There will be no return to the “old normal” for the foreseeable future,” he tweeted.

The new normal connotes the observance of the public health advisory on covid-19 which includes social distancing, wearing of facemasks and washing of hands, amongst other.

But he advised that if people take the health measures seriously, it would be a win-win for all countries.

” But there is a roadmap to a situation where we can control #COVID19 and get on with our lives,” he tweeted.

He also advised authorities to be decisive and determined in containing covid-19 in their respective countries.

“No matter where a country is in its epidemic curve, it is never too late to take decisive action,” he said.

On Monday’s press briefing, Adhanom emphatically stressed the following:

” A focus on reducing mortality and suppressing #COVID19 transmission.

” An empowered, engaged community that takes individual behaviour measures in the interest of each other.

“Strong government leadership and coordination of comprehensive strategies that are communicated clearly and consistently”
