A 48-year old married man, Mr. Kenneth Nwangwuchukwu, has landed in trouble after he lured a 12-year old girl in Lagos and seduced her in his office in order to have sex with her.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that he was arrested and charged for statutory rape for sexual molestation of the victim in his office located at Durdola Street. Ajasa Command in Ipaja, Lagos.

Kenneth was alleged to have tricked the victim into his office, used words of mouth to confuse her and gradually touched her breasts and other parts of her body to lure her into sex.
However, the victim later realized herself and raised alarm which forced him to open the door and she escaped. She later reported what happened to her parents.
The matter was reported at Ipaja Police Division and the police arrested the defendant. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command.

During interrogation, the married man, Nwangwuchukwu admitted that he touched parts of her body but with her consent as she did not resist it for the period it lasted.
However, the victim debunked his claim and told the police that she was sexually molested after he used words of mouth to confuse her, fondled her breasts and her private part in his office.

The police found him culpable and charged before the Ogba Magistrates court for indecent assault.
When he was arraigned, the court did not take his plea. The prosecutor, Mr. Christopher John, informed the court that the incident happened inside the defendant’s office where he dragged the victim and molested her.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Peter Nwaka, ordered him to be remanded in prison custody and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 24th September, 2018, for the report of the DPP advice to be ready before the issue of bail will be considered.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that if the DPP found him culpable and he is charged for felony, the matter will be transferred to the High court which has the jurisdiction to try such matters. He may be handed up to 15 years imprisonment if the court found him guilty at the end of the trial.
