The Police at Oworoshoki Division led by the DPO, CSP Ifeanyi Owo, have arrested a married man, one Peter Jamiu, who allegedly used a net to trap a 14-year old girl in Lagos and engaged her in a sex romp.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the riverside area of Oworoshoki where the suspect resides with the victim’s parents.

The arrest was made on Saturday morning after the father of the victim informed the police about the dastardly act on the victim.
It was gathered that Jamiu lured the victim who is a JSS student, used a net to hook her on the neck, forcefully penetrated and defiled her.

The embittered girl thereafter told her father what Jamiu had done to her and revealed that he had done such before. The father, who did not take the matter lightly, went to the police and reported the incident.
The victim was taken to Mirabel Centre where doctors confirmed that she was violated and defiled.
Hence the DPO ordered for Jamiu’s arrest. But when police went to his house, the officers did not meet him and they then invited his wife to the police station. The police asked the wife to call her husband; she did and he eventually showed up. He was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
When our correspondent visited Oworoshoki Police Division, the DPO was said to have gone for special operations over the visit of President Buhari in Lagos on Saturday.
However, a police source confirmed the arrest and that the suspect was detained inside the cell. The source said that the suspect may be transferred to the Gender Section of the State Police Command before being charged to Court for defilement.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that if Jamiu is eventually charged before court, he may likely spend some years in prison if he is tried and found guilty.
Meanwhile, the wife has been released after the husband showed up at the police station and was said to have expressed shock over the matter.
She was heard saying that she had been doing all she could do to satisfy her husband and did not know that he will engage himself in such shameful act.
