Matawalle & Sokoto Governor Undertake Inspection And Assessment Of Provisional Layout Of NAF 119 CG

In line with the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening national security and enhancing military operations, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, alongside the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, Ph.D., FCNA, conducted a high-level inspection and assessment of the ongoing provisional layout project at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) 119 Composite Group (CG), located in Sokoto State.
Upon arrival at the site, the Minister and the Governor were received by the Unit Commander, who briefed them on the project’s development status and toured some key assets, including the Alpha Jet.
Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, MON, commended the unit’s personnel for their dedication and professionalism in executing NAF’s operational mandates. He acknowledged the critical role NAF continues to play in countering threats to national security and reiterated the Federal Government’s support for the Force. The Honourable Minister assured the personnel that the government remains resolute in its commitment to bolstering NAF’s operational efficiency through increased resources and strategic development, particularly in addressing security challenges within the North-West region.
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Alh. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, Ph.D, FCNA, praised the collaborative efforts between the national and state governments in tackling insecurity in Sokoto State and the broader North-Western region. The Governor assured continued support for the military’s efforts and pledged closer collaboration in enhancing security within the state and across the nation.
The Governor and the Honourable Minister were accompanied by the GOC 8 Division, Brigadier General I.A. Ajose.
