Mo Abudu, Deola Sagoe, Nike Ogunlesi, Others To Be Honoured At First Lagos Female Entrepreneur of The Year Awards

Posted on November 22, 2021

The Nigerian business sector is a very challenging one, especially with the fluctuating economy and economic policies, some of which do not always favors upcoming businesses.

Most upcoming businesses lack adequate financial support, from friends, family, institutions and even government. And whatever little resources that is meant as support from government is too meagre to support the teeming throng of would-be entrepreneurs.

So what is left is a huge vacuum, too huge to fill. It is not unusual to find start-ups complaining about slow business, lack of funds and an inconvenient business environment.

The picture looks grim right? This situation applies to both genders, the male and female up-coming businesses. One is thus required to have an iron will and lots of confidence to dare to step into the murky waters of doing business in Nigeria.

Be that as it may, some people, particularly females, have dared, bared it all and started up businesses in Nigeria, with little or no support. These females have redefined entrepreneurship in Nigeria, in general and Lagos in particular, and have become household names in their various businesses.

These women have become success stories, worthy of emulation and that is why Ikeanumba Africa Magazine deemed it fit to celebrate them, through the first ever Lagos Female Entrepreneur Award, (LAFE).

The LAFE Award is slated for 6 March 2022, at the Glitz Event Center, Lekki, Lagos, and would be a platform to celebrate and reward the selected female entrepreneurs.

LAFE is an award event set up to promote and celebrate female entrepreneurs in Lagos, and will gather the crème de la crème in the business industry, across all sectors, who would network, learn, teach and inspire other women who desire to start and run successful businesses.

The female entrepreneurs who have been nominated for the LAFE Award are Funmilayo Babington-Ashaye, Bilikiss Abiola, Olamide Orekunrin, Mo Abudu, Adenike Ogunlesi, Stephanie Obi, Deola Ade-Ojo, Kofo Akinkugbe, Linda Ikeji, Nnenna Kalu Makanjuola, Femi Olayebi, etc.

Fans, friends and admirers of these female entrepreneurs are encouraged to vote for them via Ikeanumba Africa website www.ikeanumbamedia.com or through Ikeanumba Africa social media handles.

All votes will be collated and used as one of the criteria for winning.

However, there are other categories of awards as well to be won on that day.

The aim as always, is to encourage entrepreneurship, which is the objective of Ikeanumba Africa Magazine, a magazine that promotes the idea of economic development, through decent afro-capitalism.

More details about the LAFE Award would be released in the coming weeks, but you can visit the website, www.ikeanumbamedia.com for more information on the LAFE Award.
