A 29-year-old married mother of four children, Mrs. Chinasa Odah, a native of Inikiri Effum community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, reportedly died after she allegedly took drugs for abortion.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the sad incident took place on Saturday, 24th August, 2019, at Sudan Hospital as she was said to have bled to death.

It was gathered that the woman was having an affair with her 25-year old boyfriend, Monday Mgbada, who allegedly got her pregnant and gave her pills in order to abort it. But after taking the pills, the woman started bleeding and her husband, Michael Odah, immediately rushed her to Sudan Hospital in the area. After examination, the doctor on duty confirmed that she must have taken a substance capable of damaging her womb.

At that point, the woman, Chinasa, was questioned and she opened up that her lover, Monday Mgbada, impregnated her and gave her pills to take in order to abort it. As soon as she made that statement, she passed on.

The matter was then reported to the Police in Effum and the suspect, Monday Mgbada, was subsequently arrested.

DSP Loveth Odah, the Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident. She said that the matter was still under investigation and the suspect will be arraigned after investigation.
