In preparation for the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the State, the Rivers State Police Command has informed the public that there will be temporary restrictions on human and vehicular movement across the state, except those on essential duties. This restriction will be from 12:00am to 6:00pm on 30th August, 2025.

The Police Command urged citizens to cooperate fully with security agencies to ensure a smooth, peaceful, and hitch-free electoral process, as the Police are committed to maintaining law and order before, during, and after the elections.
According SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the PPRO, comprehensive security measures have been put in place, including the adequate deployment of Security Operatives to all the land and waterways to guarantee a secure environment for voters.
The Command also debunked false press reports circulating on social media, clarifying that such reports do not emanate from the Police Command.
“We urge residents to comply with the restriction order, and report all suspicious activities to security agencies” the Police said.
