After an intensive two-year diploma programme at the prestigious Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), 30 young Nigerians will be graduating on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

All 30 are recipients of MTN Nigeria’s MUSON Scholar’s programme which has provided scholarships for over 300 Nigerians in the past 15 years.

The MTN Foundation Scholar’s Programme is a purpose-driven initiative directed at ensuring the capacity development of Nigerian youths with a knack for music.

This is in a bid to provide Nigerian youths with an opportunity to access quality music education which contributes to the country’s development of the creative sector.

Speaking about the forthcoming graduation ceremony, Executive Secretary MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya said, “We are committed to supporting, recognizing and celebrating local talent and partnering with like-minded organizations to implement enriching experiences that encourage young talent. We recognize the important role the arts play in personal and communal development; it enriches communities and is an essential part of the cultural fabric of society and we look forward to releasing these new breeds of music and musical experts to the world”

“MTN Foundation has taken the MUSON Diploma course as one of its nationwide projects and it remains the one of the driving forces that helps keep our standards high. With our shared vision of excellence, MTNF has no doubt in its continued support of Music scholars”, she added.

MTN Foundation has impacted students through various initiatives including the MTN Science and Technology Scholarship Scheme (MTN STSS) and the MTN Scholarship Scheme for Blind Students (MTN SSBS).
