Posted on January 13, 2026

MultiChoice Nigeria has announced the appointment of Ms. Kemi Omotosho as its new Chief Executive Officer following the retirement of erstwhile boss, Mr. John Ugbe.

‎The company, in a statement on Monday, said Omotosho’s appointment will take effect from January 2026.

‎Ugbe is stepping down after nearly 15 years in charge of the pay-TV company, during which he led the business through major industry and market changes.

‎Omotosho has over two decades of experience across media, telecommunications, and digital services in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa.

She has previously held senior positions within the MultiChoice Group, including Executive Head of Customer Value Management in Nigeria and Group Executive Head of Customer Value Management for the Rest of Africa.

She most recently served as Regional Director for Southern Africa, where she had full responsibility for operations across seven countries.

‎Omotosho said she looked forward to leading the company in Nigeria, describing the market as strategic and dynamic.

“It is a privilege to be entrusted with the leadership of MultiChoice Nigeria at this important moment. Nigeria remains one of the Group’s most strategic and dynamic markets.

‎”I look forward to working with our teams and partners to deepen our relationship with consumers, champion local storytelling and the creative economy, as well as build a future-ready organisation that delivers sustainable value,” she said.‎

‎The company added that Ugbe’s retirement and Omotosho’s appointment followed a structured transition process aimed at ensuring continuity and stability.
