Muri-Okunola Conferred Honorary Doctorate Award

The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, has been conferred with a Honourary Doctorate and Fellowship Award by the Institute of Corporate and Public Sector Professionals (ICPSP).

Receiving the award from the President of the Institute, Dr. Folasade Airebamen, at small ceremony held in the Conference Room, Public Service Office, Office of the Head of Service, Secretariat, Alausa Ikeja, Muri-Okunola appreciated the Institute of Corporate and Public Sector Professionals (ICPSP) for finding him worthy of the prestigious award.

He lauded the Institute’s Governing Council for taking note and recognising his efforts in his own space, stressing that he will not rest on his oars but continue to do everything necessary to improve the public sector and achieve set goals and objectives.

“We have a strong team for capacity building and development in Lagos State and our human resource is our most prized asset, which we will continue to give our best. I pledge my support to the Institute and will contribute my quota to the progress of the organisation”, he said.

The President of the Institute, Dr. Folasade Airebamen, expressed delight that the Honourary Doctorate and Fellowship Award Committee of the Institute considered Muri-Okunola worthy of the highest recognition in view of his excellent performance and commitment to the Public Service.

She assured that the Institute’s Governing Council will continue to support all efforts geared towards the actualisation of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Greater Lagos Vision.

The Matron of the Institute, who doubles as the Chairperson, Nigeria Labour Congress, Lagos State Chapter, Chief (Mrs.) Agnes Sessi, stated that the investiture of Muri-Okunola into the Institute was laudable and worthwhile.

Mrs. Sessi stated that the Institute of Corporate and Public Sector Professionals (ICPSP), would continue to recognise individuals with a track record of contributions to the national agenda and professionalism in both private and public sectors.

“Your nomination for the award is as a result of your record of selfless service rendered in the public service and your position as the number one Civil Servant in Lagos State. I trust that the Head of Service will add massive value to the Institute’s global capacity-building strategy for the benefit of the entire members, as well as the workforce in Lagos State”, she said.

In her remarks at the presentation, the Registrar of the Institute, Mrs. Omolara Adelakun, while congratulating the HoS, said the institute would embark on quality training and development initiatives to enhance the value-adding capabilities of all the civil servants in Lagos State.
