Fresh facts have emerged as how the former Majority Leader of Imo State House of Assembly, Ambassador Uche Ogbuagu, was removed unceremoniously by Paul Emeziem-led Assembly leadership.

Uche Ogbuagu, who is the member representing Ikeduru State Constituency in Imo House of Assembly, made the revelation last week during his second constituency briefing transmitted live on various radio and TV stations across the SouthEast.

In the radio programme, he narrated his ordeal in the hands of the former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, who, according to him, swore to deal mercilessly with him (Uche Ogbuagu) for pitching tent with the member representing Obowo state constituency, Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, who is currently the substantive Speaker of the Assembly.

Ogbuagu disclosed that a prominent and influential man in Ikeduru paid the former Speaker a huge amount of money with his surrogates to unseat him as the Majority Leader of the House for no just reason.

According to Ogbuagu, “The day I was removed as the Majority Leader, I was on my way to the Assembly, without any knowledge of what was about to happen. It was the rudest shock of my life when the speaker announced my removal.

This was upon his arrival from Abuja with some selected colleagues on a frivolous trip. It was the only reason the Assembly sat that day. And I never committed any crime”.

“Even the then House Committee chairman on Information, Hon. Johnson Iheonukara Duru, had said it several times that I didn’t commit any offense for my removal, only that the House wanted a change.”

“The same Paul Emeziem, without any qualms of conscience, went ahead to suspend me and shared my salary for four good months among some members who cared to partake.

“About my prophetic statement that Emeziem’s action was the end of his reign as the speaker, it was something I have in common with God. Each time I decree a word out of annoyance, it must surely come to pass. Today, where is Paul Emeziem? He is currently serving an indefinite suspension. You see how life goes.”

“Recall that when I was serving my suspension, I celebrated my birthday and, as usual, I empowered several indigents and also distributed mini buses to some youths who are jobless.

“You will agree with me that in our contemporary society, no politician may want to lavish this scarce resources especially when they are still serving a suspension. That’s my covenant with God to Ikeduru people. No one can stop me.”

“If there is anything people should criticize me about, its far from being proper representation. Go across Ikeduru since my coming on board, you will see things for yourself. I use my salary to do all these, and you know I had started imparting in peoples lives before I became a lawmaker.”

“And who says lawmakers’ job ends in making laws? I personally changed the narrative, and today, you can see legislators building market blocks, roads etc because I started it.”

“For Mbaike 2023 Federal House of Representatives, we are not talking about parties and tickets, we should be talking about individuals and personalities.”

“The rotational permutation does not permit a son of Mbaitoli to go for the third time since Uche Nwole and Henry Nwawuba have completed the twelve years of late Bethel Amadi. It is now the turn of Ikeduru if rotation is anything to go by.”

“But as for those, who pride themselves as moneybags in Ikeduru, only time will tell.”

“So many people are of the view that I have been silenced and made not to talk again. I disagree with them. Uche Ogbuagu does not know how to lie in politics. That has been my problem with them. Whenever I see anything going wrong in this Hope Uzodinma administration, I will say it for people to hear. I don’t know how to hide evil.”
