A 37-year old woman, Linda Stephen,  has filed a suit before the Kaduna Customary Court, seeking for the dissolution of her six years marriage to the husband, Felix Stephen, over excessive sexual demands.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the mother of two kids told the Court that her husband, Mr. Felix Stephen, enjoys sex so much and she can no longer bear it. She wants the Court to dissolve their marriage so that she can move on with her life.

The embittered woman, Mrs. Linda, who resides at Ungwan Sunday in Kaduna, in her petition, alleged her husband of beating her whenever she rejects his sexual advances.

She told the court that she was no longer interested in the marriage as she can no longer cope with the husband’s excessive demands for sex.

“I urge the Court to dissolve this marriage because I can’t stand his excessive sexual urge. He likes sex too much, and I can’t bear it.”

“Most times, he would have sex with me from midnight till early hours of the morning. Even when I am crying, he will not stop.”

“It has been three months since I moved out of his house. His relatives have been pleading with me to go back to him, but they do not know what I am facing,”

“My husband does not control himself whenever he needs sex, and whenever I refused his sexual advances, he would beat me up, even in front of our two kids.”

However, the embattled husband, Mr. Stephen told the Court that he still loves his wife and does not want divorce.

“I will change,  I’m ready to control my urge” he said.

He pleaded with the Court to help him pacify her, and not to grant her wish.

“I have been pleading with her not to seek for divorce, as I am now ready to control my sexual urge. I took my uncles and friends to her parents house to plead with her but she refused to listen to us instead she walked out on us,’’ Mr. Stephen said.

He further pleaded with the court to give him time to sort things out and reconcile with his wife.

The presiding judge, John Dauda, adjourned the matter till 6th May, 2025,  for report of the outcome of the reconciliation, while advising them to maintain peace.

Wonders shall not end hence I’m short of words over a woman vacating husband’s incessant sexual demands, we all know that the trend is that most women are lamenting for inability to perform on the side of their partners. My candid advice is for the man to take it easy and avoid beating when access is not granted, as long as sex is concerned, women can always mellow if you approach them passionately as law posits…, non fit injuria ( you can’t remind from what you agreed to do) however, we do say, an old woman was handed a baby to take care of, and she said no, giving reason that she has no teeth. Now the question is, was she given the baby to bite?
Since the man has shown remorse on his sexual approach, the woman should consider him, in a worse case scenario, the man should sign undertaking not to manhandle or beat her again at any point of not gaining access to having sex.
My prayer is that God should give them a tantamount energy and strength to conjugate peacefully.
