The Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps (NAIC) has  immortalized the former Chief of Military Intelligence (CMI), Brigadier General Abdulrahman Kuliya by naming a 350 seater capacity Training Shed after the late CMI at the  Headquarters Nigerian Army Intelligence Corps WU Bassey Barracks, Asokoro Abuja.
The project, which was commissioned on Friday 13 January, 2023, was named after Brigadier General Kuliya, who died alongside former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, in the ill-fated Military plane crash in Kaduna State on May 21, 2021.
Speaking at the occasion, the COAS, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, said it was befitting to name the project after General Kuliya for his contributions to the Intelligence Corps and the Nigerian Army in general.
The COAS, who was represented by the Chief of Special Service and Programmes, Major General EV Onumajuru, described the late Intelligence Chief as a dedicated and loyal senior officer who contributed immensely to the growth of the Intelligence Corps during his service years and in his short tenure as the CMI, especially in the area of training.
He added that the facility will provide a conducive environment for the  training of personnel of the Nigerian Army. In his words, “The late CMI vision was training and retraining of officers and soldiers of the Corp which prophetically lends credence to the COAS vision of having a professionally Nigerian Army ready to accomplish assigned missions within  a joint environment in the defence of Nigeria”. He therefore commended the Corps Commander for ceasing the initiative to celebrate the late Senior Officer.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chief of Military Intelligence, Major General DI Salihu said, late Brigadier General Kuliya served the Intelligence Corps and the Army in profound capacities with exemplary leadership qualities which has inspired both officers and men. He recalled some of the late senior officers’ legacies in operation and administration. Adding that his legacies will continue to inspire generations to come.
The event was witnessed by Mrs. Maryam Kuliya, wife of  Late Brigadier General Kuliya, Senior Officers from Defence and  Nigerian Army Headquarters as well as personnel of NAIC
