National Forum For South East Presidency Presents Meritorious Award To Ekwunife

In what has been a recognition-filled week from numerous quarters, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, Friday, March 11, 2022, has once again been honoured by the National Forum For South East Presidency. The meritorious award of excellence was in appreciation of the federal lawmaker’s service to humanity.

Speaking at the Senator Uche Ekwunife Event Centre, Awka, the National President of the forum, Dr Patrick Enuneku noted that the forum was a group of individuals who were clamouring for a United Nigeria with a President from Igbo extraction. He stated that the beauty of the forum was that, it was made up of people from different political parties with a singular mission.

Dr Enuneku explained that the recognition was aimed to encourage the lawmaker to do more for the people, adding that amongst the three Senators in Anambra state that Ekwunife stands very tall. He urged the lawmaker not to rest on her laurels.

Highlighting the projects executed by the performing senator, the National President said that the forum had noticed that the seven LGAs in the zone were benefitting her huge dividends of democracy. He described Ekwunife as an infrastructural-driven lawmaker.

“Besides the numerous infrastructural projects you are executing in the Central Senatorial District, you are amongst the top 10 senators with the highest sponsored bills on the floor of the senate and that is the reason we[forum] are here to honour you”, he noted.

In her speech, Ekwunife welcomed the forum and congratulated their initiatives for championing the clamour for Igbo Presidency. She noted that their mission was in the right direction, stressing that based on equity, and fairness that South East should be considered.

The federal lawmaker urged the forum to nudge the qualified individuals from the Igbo extraction to join the presidential race and show maximum interest. She encouraged them to go round the states and drum supports.

Continuing, the A-grade lawmaker appreciated the forum for their support in the last general elections, saying that the reward for success is more work. The Senator advised constituents to always request for the score cards of candidates before entrusting their mandate.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation appreciated the leadership of the senate led by Distinguished Senator Ahmed Lawan, PhD, CON, for their immeasurable support in attracting projects to constituents, noting that to whom much is given much is expected.
