Ndigbo Behind Detention Of Nnamdi Kanu – Says Umuigbo United Assembly President Amb NwaDavid

The National President of Umuigbo United Assembly, Ambassador Raph NwaDavid, has stated that some powerful Ndigbo are behind the continuous detention of the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in custody by the Federal Government.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Evangelist NwaDavid stated this on 1st June, 2024, at ICAN event center in Amowo Odofin area of Lagos during the unveiling of the Umuigbo United Assembly, Lagos chapter.

He explained that Mazi Kanu is still in detention because Ndigbo did not do what they were supposed to have done over his release and that was why the Federal Government was still keeping him in detention.

 

He noted that there was need for Ndigbo to be united and speak with one voice to pursue common purpose and it was the disunity that has made Mazi Kanu to be languishing in custody and Ndigbo had been unable to do anything for his release after several years.

He explained that it was the disunity that led the vision from God for the formation of Umuigbo United Assembly, which has now spread like wildfire among the Igbo as a meeting point for Ndigbo to speak with one voice.

Evangelist NwaDavid explained that the purpose of forming Umuigbo United Assembly is for the welfare of Ndigbo and the group has spread across the States of Nigeria and beyond other countries in the World.

 

He also advised the traditional rulers and other Igbo leaders to work to restore Igbo language from going into extinction because the language is dying gradually to the extent that in few years time, Igbo children will no longer speak the language.

 

On the members of the Umuigbo United Assembly, Lagos State, NwaDavid advised the members to work together and protect the interest of Ndigbo and work more to bring new members to the association.

 

The climax of the event was the unveiling of the members and the executives of the union led by Elder M.C Anyanwu, who thanked the National President and and National Publicity Secretary,  Dr Ugochukwu Nwajiofor, for their support and reposing confidence in the Umuigbo United Assembly, Lagos State.

He also thanked the members the Lagos State chapter and its executives for their support and promised to carry every members along for the progress of Ndigbo in Lagos State.

 

Some of the members expressed satisfaction with the inauguration and hope that the group will turn things around for the welfare of Ndigbo in Lagos State.

 

The event was attended by prominent Igbo men and women, captains of industry, Igbo leaders, traditional rulers including the first president of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief John Uche, Ogbuehi Raph Njirika, Hon Uchenna Aziekwe, Lady Mrs Lucy Ikeh, Chief Mrs. Nelly Okafor among others.
