New Advocacy Group, RHAM Emerges, To Promote Fact-Based Narratives on Tinubu’s Reforms, Achievements

A new non-political, private sector-driven advocacy platform, the Renewed Hope Alive Movement (RHAM), has been launched in Nigeria with a clear mandate to bridge the gap between government reforms and public understanding, while equipping citizens with the knowledge required to make informed decisions and actively participate in nation-building.

The movement was officially unveiled at a press conference held on Thursday, April 7, 2026, at the Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, where its Convener and National Coordinator, Prince Kayode Tejuoso, outlined its objectives and operational framework.

According to Prince Tejuoso, RHAM is an initiative of a coalition of private stakeholders drawn from diverse business sectors across Nigeria, united by a shared commitment to promoting verified national achievements and fostering a culture of optimism, accountability, and collective responsibility among citizens.

He explained that the establishment of RHAM was driven by the urgent need to build a nationwide network of informed citizens who not only understand the ongoing reforms of the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu but are also empowered to contribute meaningfully to the development of their communities.

“Through awareness, engagement, and advocacy, RHAM seeks to inspire a ripple effect of positive action across all levels of society,” he stated.

Prince Tejuoso further emphasized that the movement aims to correct what he described as distorted information often associated with government activities and policies.

He noted that RHAM would play a critical role in providing clarity through verified data and fact-based narratives.

“We will bridge the gap between government reforms and public understanding. Through these efforts, we will help citizens make informed decisions and actively participate in nation-building,” he said.

He added that the group is committed to delivering accurate, timely, and accessible information on national development, with a strong emphasis on transparency, credibility, and consistency to ensure public trust in the narratives shaping national discourse.

Highlighting some key policies of the current administration that require amplification, Prince Tejuoso commended President Tinubu for approving a N3.3 trillion payment plan to settle long-standing debts in Nigeria’s power sector.

He explained that the intervention forms part of the Presidential Power Sector Financial Reforms Programme, designed to clear debts accumulated between February 2015 and March 2025.

He also lauded the decentralisation of the power sector, moving it from the Exclusive List to the Concurrent List, as a significant step toward achieving stable and sustainable electricity supply across the country.

On the operational structure of RHAM, the Convener disclosed that the movement will have coordinators in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, tasked with disseminating accurate information about government policies and actions.

He added that plans are underway to inaugurate these coordinators and local government coordinators and ward captains nationwide to deepen grassroots engagement.

Emphasising the grassroots focus of the movement, Prince Tejuoso noted that RHAM would communicate in local languages to ensure inclusivity and effective reach across diverse communities.

“We will ensure that we get to the grassroots by conducting our programmes in local languages,” he said.

Speaking on how the group intends to influence government policies for the benefit of citizens, he revealed plans to evolve RHAM into a pressure group that will engage Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to ensure proper implementation of policies in line with their intended objectives.

“Going forward, we will interact with various MDAs to ensure that government policies are accurately implemented for the benefit of the generality of the people,” he added.

In his remarks at the event, the Special Guest of Honour and Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, commended the initiative and praised Prince Tejuoso and his team for taking steps to correct misinformation about government activities.

“There have been several negative but incorrect narratives about government policies being circulated. I am pleased that this initiative seeks to address that,” he said.

Also speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Princess Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, Executive Director Corporate Services, South West Development Commission (SWDC) and former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who unveiled the group’s slogan, described the initiative as commendable.

“This effort will go a long way in fostering positive public perception about government policies and decisions,” she stated.

With the official unveiling concluded, plans are now in motion for the public presentation of RHAM across the six geo-political zones of the country, after which the movement will extend its activities to all states and the 774 local government areas nationwide.
