New Ejigbo Police Division Office Complex Flagged Off In Style

It was indeed a remarkable occasion as stakeholders gathered at the Ejigbo Police Division, Lagos, to witness the official foundation laying and flag off the of multi-million Naira new office complex being constructed at the station. The project is being sponsored by a financial institution known as Grooming Center Micro Finance as part of the company’s policy on corporate social responsibility in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that those in attendance were the Lagos State Commissioner of Police represented by the Area Commander, Zone D Mushin, ACP Aliko Dankoli, the traditional ruler of Ejigbo Kingdom, Oba Ojoola, represented by his Princess, the Chief Executive Director of Grooming Center, Mr. Godwin Nwabuka, members of the PCRC and other stakeholders.
The initiator of the project, the amiable Divisional Police Officer, CSP Olabisi Okuwobi, stated in her address that the complex was an initiative she started by reaching out to the company on the need to have bigger office complex to alleviate the challenges the officers were facing in discharging their duties in the Division.
She said that the space in the Division was not enough to accommodate the officers as such some sensitive areas were used as offices hence her desire to expand the the Division offices.
CSP Okuwobi said that her efforts paid off after the Division wrote a letter to Grooming Center requesting for assistance and they responded promising to build and complete a storey building office complex in the available space inside the Division. She said following the positive response from Grooming Center, she thereafter engaged a building expert, who came up with a proposal of about N7.5m, which the company had accepted and commenced work by bringing the necessary building materials.
She also commended the efforts of the traditional ruler of Ejigbo Kingdom, Oba Ojoola, who she said had already donated some blocks for the building of offices before the Grooming Center took over to complete the complex.
The representative of the Commissioner of Police, ACP Dankoli, thanked the management of Grooming Center and all those who have assisted the Police in one way or the other to enhance their efforts in the discharge of their duty to protect lives and property.
The CEO of Grooming Center, Mr. Nwabuka, said it was part of the company’s policy to contribute as corporate social responsibility in their area of operation and hence when the DPO wrote the letter requesting for such, the management had board meeting and approved the project. He reiterated the commitment of the company to continue to contribute in such projects in future as part of the social responsibility of the company.
The event was attended by  some residents, who commended the efforts of the DPO and the Police in the Division and other stakeholders including high chiefs from the palace of the Oba of Ejigbo Kingdom.
