New Ladipo Market Leaders Sworn In

An Igbo traditional ruler in the Mushin area of Lagos, Eze John. C. Nwosu has advised traders at Ladipo Market to shun violence and support the Lagos State Government in accomplishing the visible and commendable mega city projects in the State.

Eze Nwosu stated this during the inauguration of the newly elected leaders at the market’s section of the Akinwunmi Traders Association, ATA.

The market successfully conducted an election where Chief Ephraim Izuchukwu Okorie emerged as Chairman. P.M.EXPRESS reports that others elected were Mr. Chime Uchenna, Vice Chairman, Anayochukwu Ede as General Secretary, Chukwuma Okeke and Paul Igwemadu were elected treasurer and Financial secretary respectively. Okwudili Okafor and Mark Chinedu were elected as Chief Provost and Welfare officers, Mr. Ejezie Festus and others elected into other positions.

While making an acceptance speech, Chief Okorie thanked the traders for reposing their confidence on the new executives and assured that he will do his best to sanitize the area. He warned the traders that it will no more be business as usual as he will not torolate any kind of violent activities and shameful acts in the area.

The event was attended by Eze Nwosu and some prominent Igbo chiefs from various markets in Lagos. The chief host and president of the whole Ladipo market, under the umbrella of LACEC, Chief Jude Nwankwo and his executives also attended the event with some representatives of the market unions.

Chief Nwankwo thanked the traders for conducting a peaceful election and urged them to give support to the new executives. He promised that he will always be available to assist the traders and ensure that there was peace in the the market.

The event was colourful and witnessed Igbo traditional songs and dances for the entertainment of the guests.

The outgoing chairman, Mr. Ejike Nwaduba thanked the traders for their supports during his tenure and promised that he will support the new executives and ensure that there was peace in the market.
