Posted on October 1, 2021

The Senator representing the Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA has charged Nigerians to strengthen the chord of national unity and peaceful co-existence.

Senator Abiru gave the goodwill message in commemoration of the 61st anniversary of Nigeria’s independence on Friday.

The Lagos East Senator recalled that in the last 61 years, Nigeria had survived turbulence in different shapes and hues but always emerged stronger even against the predictions of powerful foreign interests.

He said, “It is the will of Almighty Allah to keep Nigeria going united against all darts that had hit the soul of the nation in the last 61 years. Only a few nations that faced similar crises pulled through. It behooves every patriotic Nigerian to strengthen our unity and maximize our diversities.

“Like I have always maintained, our challenges , though daunting but not insurmountable. Nigeria is not a lost cause. We can still salvage our dear nation and reposition her on the path of honour. I wish all Nigerians Happy 61st Independence”.
