Nigeria Curling Federation Appoints Phemmy Adetula As Communications Director

The Nigeria Curling Federation (NCF) has appointed renowned sports communications expert and award-winning sports journalist, Phemmy Adetula, as its Communications Director and member of the Federation’s Board.

The appointment was approved during the Federation’s board meeting held over the weekend as part of efforts to strengthen its strategic communication, enhance stakeholder engagement, and increase the visibility of curling in Nige

Announcing the appointment, the federation’s President, Damola Daniel described Adetula as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished sports communication professionals whose experience and reputation will be invaluable to the Federation’s vision.

“The Nigeria Curling Federation is entering a new phase of growth, and effective communication will be central to achieving our ambitions. We needed someone with proven competence, credibility, and an outstanding track record, and Phemmy Adetula perfectly fits that profile,” Damola said.

“His recognition by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) with the prestigious Veteran Sports Journalist Award during its Diamond Jubilee celebration last year is a testament to his immense contributions to sports development.

“Beyond journalism, he has distinguished himself in sports administration as a former Board Member and Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Olympic Committee. We are delighted to welcome him to our Board and are confident he will play a pivotal role in elevating Nigerian curling to greater national and international prominence.”

Responding to the appointment, an elated Adetula expressed gratitude to the Federation’s leadership for the confidence reposed in him, describing the opportunity as another call to serve Nigerian sports.

“I am deeply honoured by this appointment and sincerely appreciate the confidence of President Daniel Damola and the Board of the Nigeria Curling Federation. Having served the Judo and Fencing Federations in different capacities, I understand the power of strategic communication in building successful sports institutions.”

The Nigeria Curling Federation is the governing body responsible for the development and administration of Ice Curling, Wheelchair Curling, Floor Curling, Table Curling, and Street Curling in Nigeria.
