Nigeria Unveils Name & Logo Of New National Carrier

Finally the Nigerian Government today unveiled the much expected name of the nation’s carrier, as well as the logo. The unveiling was done at the Farnborough International Airshow in London.

It was done by the Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika. He said in the arrangement that the Nigerian government will own only 5% of the carrier’s equity.

The new national carrier will be known as Nigeria Air with the slogan is ‘Bringing Nigeria closer to the world’.

During the unveiling ceremony, the minister said, “This will be a National Carrier that is Private sector led and driven. It is a business, not a social service. Government will not be involved in running it or deciding who runs it. The investors will have full responsibility for this.”

“The Nigerian Government will not own more than 5% (maximum) of the new National Carrier. Government will not be involved in running it or deciding who runs it,” he added.

According to Nigeria’s Minister of  State for Aviation, the new national carrier will fly to 81 domestic, regional and international routes.
