Night Of Tributes In Honour Of Late Distinguished Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, CON

The late Distinguished Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Patrick Ubah, an eminent Nigerian politician, businessman, and philanthropist, was honoured with a Night of Tributes held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja.

Senator Ubah, who represented Anambra South Senatorial District, was the founder and owner of Capital Oil and Gas, Authority Radio and Newspaper, Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club, and the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation. He passed away on July 27, 2024, in London after a brief illness.

The event witnessed the presence of numerous dignitaries from across Nigeria, paying their respects to the life and legacy of Senator Ubah. Among the prominent personalities in attendance were:

His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON – Senate President

H.E. Alhaji Umar Ganduje – APC National Chairman

His Excellency, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, GCON – Former President of Nigeria

Senator Chris Ngige – Former Governor of Anambra State

Senator Rochas Okorocha – Former Governor of Imo State

Distinguished Senator Magnus Ngei Abe

Bianca Ojukwu – Minister of State for Foreign Affairs

Emeka Offor – Billionaire businessman

Obi Cubana – Billionaire businessman

Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha – Former Deputy Speaker of House of Reps


Notably, the event also saw the attendance of 50% of the current sitting senators, along with other key dignitaries, including:

H.E. Senator Barau Jibrin, CFR – Deputy Senate President

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele – Senate Majority Leader

Hon. Gabriel Chukwu – National Leader, APC North-South Alliance

Former Governors, former senators, members of the National Assembly, top government officials, captains of industry, and other prominent Nigerians.


The night was a solemn yet celebratory occasion as guests extolled the virtues of Senator Ubah, describing him as a visionary leader, a generous philanthropist, and a man committed to the development of his community and Nigeria at large. His legacy, they noted, would remain a source of inspiration for generations to come.

As friends, family, and associates shared their heartfelt tributes, the gathering underscored the profound impact Senator Ubah had on the nation, leaving an indelible mark on politics, business, and humanitarianism.
