For a week now , the  President of the Nigeria Judo Federation, NJF, Dr. Musa Oshodi has disappeared from the radar of the martial art community.

Since he was elected, Oshodi had always been on the road for the sport that made him a national star as a University student.

Even before he was inaugurated as the NJF President on October 8, Oshodi was already on the road for Nigerian judo.

A day before inauguration, he led a high powered delegation of the NJF to the Embassy of Japan in Abuja where he was warmly received.

His mission at the embassy of the founders of the sport was to enlist their support in his drive to reinvent and reposition the Nigerian game.

From Abuja, he hit Ilorin,  the Kwara State capital to be part of the Nigeria Youth Games, where his sport featured.

Once through with his Ilorin assignment, Dr. Oshodi hit Lagos to attend the meeting of the Nigeria Olympic Committee. While he was in Lagos, he paid an unscheduled visit to the Nigeria Institute of Sports (NIS) dojo. After the Lagos trip, Dr Oshodi was in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital to meet with a potential sponsor in the federation’s aggressive marketing drive.

From Uyo, Oshodi also the chairman of the Oyo State Judo Association was on the road again.

This time, he was in Lagos to grace the Police Judo Veterans Championship and be honoured by the  Grading Committee of the Nigeria Judo Federation.

However, in the last few days, Dr. Oshodi has disappeared from the judo radar. Now, the medical doctor has taken a break from judo and gone back to his primary community.

He has been in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, for the National Executive Council of the Association of Nigeria Private Medical Practitioners since Tuesday.

For those who don’t know, the NJF President, is a seasoned medical doctor with a flourishing practice in Africa’s largest city, Ibadan.

While members of the judo community are missing their number one citizen, his colleagues in the medical community are enjoying his presence and  his contributions on  how to enhance health delivery in the Nigerian state.

One of his aides said Dr. Oshodi would return full blast to his judo constituency.
