The North-South Alliance Support Group, in conjunction with Ndigbo in APC FCT Abuja, has formally endorsed and pledged full support for Distinguished Senator Phillip Aduda as the incoming Senator for the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The groups made the declaration during a strategic meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, stating that they will join the campaign trail and mobilize voters across the FCT to ensure a massive victory for the former Senate Minority Whip.
Speaking on behalf of the coalition, the National Leader of the North-South Alliance Support Group, Chief Sir Oliver Akubueze, DBA, PhD, said the decision was reached after careful assessment of leadership, track record, and commitment to inclusive governance.
“Today, we have come together to endorse a man who the cap fits,” Chief Akubueze stated. “Distinguished Senator Phillip Aduda is a leader who has consistently demonstrated capacity, humility, and dedication to the welfare of all residents of the FCT, both indigenes and non-indigenes.”
Chief Akubueze, a respected elder statesman and community leader, praised Senator Aduda for his years of service and for protecting the interests of marginalized groups in the nation’s capital.
“Senator Phillip Aduda is known for protecting the interest and welfare of non-indigenes across board,” he said. “In a cosmopolitan city like Abuja, we need a representative who sees every resident as equal. That is the kind of leadership Senator Aduda has offered and will continue to offer.”
The National Secretary of the group, Hon. Gabriel Chukwu, along with other executives, vowed to do everything within their capacity to reach out to voters in all six area councils of the FCT, with special focus on Igbo communities and other non-indigene groups.
“We shall never relent in our efforts to campaign and ensure that Senator Phillip Aduda wins the election in 2027,” Hon. Chukwu said. “Our message is simple: competence, fairness, and experience. Senator Aduda embodies all three.”
The coalition also called on other non-indigene support groups in the FCT to join the movement, describing Senator Aduda’s campaign as “the moving train” for unity and development in Abuja.
“Working earnestly and tirelessly for Senator Phillip Aduda will do us more good,” Chief Akubueze added. “He understands the challenges of traders in Garki, artisans in Kubwa, students in Gwagwalada, and families in Bwari. He has a record of listening and delivering.”
According to the group, Senator Aduda’s legislative experience, accessibility, and commitment to peace make him the most qualified candidate to represent the FCT in the 10th Senate and beyond.
“We are not endorsing based on tribe or religion. We are endorsing based on performance and character,” Chief Akubueze emphasized. “The FCT needs a senator who will bridge the gap between government and the people. Senator Aduda has done it before and he will do it again.”
The endorsement adds to growing support for Senator Phillip Aduda from various community and political associations across Abuja, as stakeholders begin early mobilization for the 2027 elections.
The North-South Alliance Support Group and Ndigbo in APC FCT assured residents that their structure will be deployed for voter education, grassroots engagement, and peaceful campaigning throughout the election cycle.
