Now That The APC And Buhari Are Doing Nothing, How Is Hon Bede Funding His Projects?

“To whom Brain is given, sense is expected”.

I am aware that Legislators “attract” projects whose funding come either from Federal/State/Local governments budgetary allocations or counterpart funding sources from International or Local Governmental and Non Governmental Organizations. Even the controversial “constituency projects fund”, where it is approved, emanates from the executive whose job it is to execute projects from start to finish. What this simply means, for Legislators who unwittingly arrogate the praises of successes achieved in this direction to themselves, is that they pose as people who either expend their personal funds on the execution of this project or that they clearly do not understand the workings of government. For Hon. Bede Eke, i think it is the latter.

When some PDP folks come online, including their leaders to ask such questions like, “show me any project started and completed by the APC government in 3 years”, it says so much about the quality of opposition characters that are gunning to retrieve power in 2019. Worse still, when they instigate their supporters to raise such calumnious campaign against the Federal Executive government, they forget that monies expended on the projects they merely supervise were sourced from National coffers controlled by the APC. I am aware that there are Legislators who go outside budgetary allocations to source for funding from international agencies to execute projects. This one is, however, difficult to come by, especially when such a Legislator scores below average in Character and integrity due diligence. For instance, an Hon Bede Eke cannot get the World Bank or any of the UN agencies to fund any of his projects. The reason is simple, he lacks the clout to engage them, let alone attract them.

What this tells all the supporters of PDP legislators, particularly those of them from Aboh Mbaise /Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency, is that all that has ever been done were done by the APC-led Federal government
through her relevant agencies. So, if you say APC and BUHARI are doing nothing, check the project boards of ALL the projects purportedly done by Hon Bede Eke and tell me one funded personally by him or in collaboration with any agency that is not of the Nigerian Federal government. What this tells us is the lack of depth with which many of us approach political discussions, the shameful adherence to debilitating prejudice that holds no one but us down.

While we anticipate the realization of the truth and nothing but the truth from our opposition Federal Lawmakers, we must underscore that it takes proactivity and shrewd creative thinking for a Lawmaker to execute projects outside the limits of the National, State or Local Government budget. This is why it is necessary to elect Legislators who understand the dynamics of governance, who have the goodwill to engage international organizations and synergize local efforts for community development. It is only these class of Lawmakers that are deserving of such bespoke adulation of a “hard worker”. For this lawmakers in the class of Hon Bede Eke, who are mere Supervisors of Federal Projects, the bragging right is misplaced and can only cow ignorant supporters.
