Nude Pix Saga: How Couple Fleeced Nollywood Actress

Everyday is for the thief and one day for the owner. This maxim best illustrated the present circumstances 41-year old lady, Adepoju Tola Ife, and her dismissed police officer lover, Adewunmi found themselves.

Ife who works as a child care support/matron in a Church in Ajegunle area of Lagos was arrested for conspiring with her lover, Adesina Adewunmi, presently an inmate of Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Lagos to blackmail the popular Nollywood actress, Matilda Gogo Lambert, with her nude pictures.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect already arraigned on miscellaneous offences including blackmail, and threat to life among others, allegedly obtained nude pictures of the Rivers State-born sultry actress and producer and then demanded a fee of N6 million from her otherwise they will post the explicit pictures on the internet. The suspect, a member of a blackmail syndicate, contacted Matilda on her WhatsApp number and sent some samples to her to show they actually mean business.

The actress commenced payment in order to save her acting career and made the first payment of N1.320 million but the syndicate insisted that she must pay the N6 million as they had demanded.

They also demanded that the actress must be paying N20,000 weekly for their recharge cards or she will see her pictures in the public space.

The disturbed actress, with the agreement of her management, contacted the Public Complaint Bureau of Lagos State Police Command in Ikeja to report her ordeal.

She was advised to play along and negotiate with the fraudsters with a view to nabbing them. The syndicate later provided a First Bank account number 3117532921 belonging to Ife.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that it was when Ife attempted to withdraw one of the “weekly recharge claims’ that she discovered her account had been blocked. Gullibly, Ife visited a branch of the bank at Kirikiri area of Apapa to lodge complaint about his account where she was eventually arrested inside the bank by the Police.

While the main number used for the operation by the syndicate was later traced to Kirikiri and then annexed to Adewunmi, the dismissed Police Officer awaiting trial for a gruesome crime inside the Maximum prison.

Ife was charged at the Ikeja Magistrate Court 1, Ogba, Lagos from where she was transferred to Kirikiri prison as an awaiting trial suspect.

When the case came up in court early this week, Ife pleaded not guilty for the charge on conspiracy and stealing the sum of N1.320m which Maltida had paid to the suspects so far.
The prosecutor, Inspector Peter Nwaogwu, told the court that since she had pleaded not guilty, that a date for the hearing should be given so that the police will prove the case.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Y.O. Aje-Afunwa, granted her bail in the sum of N400,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition. The matter was adjourned till March 28, for hearing.
It was gathered that despite receiving part of the demanded sum, the syndicate eventually uploaded some of Maltida’s nude pictures on the internet.

She became a force in the industry after she released her 2017 movie titled “Deepest Cut,’ which featured A-list actors like Majid Michel, Zack Orji, Segun Arinze, and Frederick Leonard. The movie, shot in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja and directed by Pascal Amanfo, spotlighted the effect of rape, violence and war in our society.

Her last project was the movie titled “InstaGuru”.
