The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, paid a supervisory visit to the construction site of Oroma-Umudora-Umuikwu-Onono road with spur to Umueze Anam, all in Anambra West Local Government Area of the State.

At a short ceremony held at Afor Market, Oroma Etiti, Governor Obiano observed that the 18km road with culverts awarded to TAMAD Construction Coy, will link about five communities in Anambra West council area. The road will give the communities access to Asaba, Delta State, with a spur at the Oroma -Kogi-Abuja Highway.

“This road links major agrarian communities in the area who are major producers of vegetables, Ugu, bitter leaf, yam and rice which serve as export commodities for the state”, Governor Obiano said.

He  explained that when fully completed, the road will facilitate easy movement of goods to the markets of Otu and Onitsha, thus putting money in the pockets of the farmers and the state by extension.

In his speech at the event, the Anambra West LGA chairman, Hon Tonycollins Nwabunwanne, described Governor Obiano  as a workaholic.  He promised that the Local Government was ready to help with the protection of the company workers.
