Ogala Debunks False Claims Linking Nee INEC Chairman To Tinubu’s Legal Team

Posted on October 11, 2025
Renewed Hope Global has commended its Grand Patron, Chief Babatunde Ogala, SAN, for setting the record straight and debunking false claims linking the newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan (SAN), to the Tinubu Presidential Legal Team.
In a strongly worded statement personally signed by Chief Ogala, who served as the erstwhile Coordinator of the Tinubu Presidential Legal Team, he described the allegations as “false, misleading, and politically motivated”. He clarified that Prof. Amupitan was never at any time a member of the Tinubu Legal Team and that his name did not appear among the over 123 lawyers, including 60 Senior Advocates of Nigeria, who were formally engaged for the presidential legal assignment.
Chief Ogala challenged anyone peddling the falsehood to produce verifiable evidence and urged Nigerians to resist divisive narratives capable of undermining public trust in national institutions. He also emphasized that the appointment of Prof. Amupitan as INEC Chairman was made lawfully by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and duly approved by the Council of State.
Speaking on the development, the Global Chairman of Renewed Hope Global, Ambassador J.K. Adebola, said the organization stands firmly with its Grand Patron and commends his courage in defending truth and integrity in public discourse.
“Chief Babatunde Ogala, SAN, has once again demonstrated leadership guided by truth, fairness, and patriotism. Renewed Hope Global will continue to counter falsehoods and propaganda from political actors who seek to distract from the visible progress being made under President Tinubu’s administration,” Ambassador Adebola stated.
He further urged Nigerians to remain focused on the nation’s development agenda and to verify information before sharing, stressing that misinformation has no place in a democracy built on truth and accountability.
