Ogene Ogbunike Felicitates With Ndi Ogbunike On Annual Igu Aro Ceremony
Ichie Dr. Chuma-Odili Harris Udokamma, popularly known as Ogene Ogbunike, Eze Odinana Ogbunike, has heartily congratulated the good people of Ogbunike on the successful performance of this year’s Igu Aro ceremony, held at Azu Ogbunike today, 9th August, 2025, by the ancestral masquerade, Enweaka.
The Igu Aro in Ogbunike tradition is a sacred moment dedicated to praying to our ancestors for blessings upon the new harvests and farm produce. It heralds the season of abundance and officially opens the way for the community to partake in the new produce from our farmlands.
With the completion of Igu Aro, the people of Ogbunike now look forward to the New Yam Festival, which will be officially announced in due course.
Ogene Ogbunike called for peace, calm, and harmony in their their beloved community, noting that the Igu Aro ceremony serves to cleanse the land of all atrocities and abominations, thereby restoring purity and unity among the people.
“May this year’s harvest season bring us joy, prosperity, and stronger bonds of brotherhood.” Ogene Ogbunike prayed.
