It appears that peace may likely return to Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State over purported plans by the embattled High Court Consent Judgement President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, to step down and hand over to Chief Sunday Ossai as the authentic Ohanaeze President.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that for sometime, Chief Aguene has been under tremendous pressure from the Apex Ohanaeze Worldwide led by the amiable President, Chief Emmanuel, to step down and hand over to Chief Ossai.

It was gathered that Chief Iwuanyanwu summoned Aguene to Owerri, Imo State, recently, where he reportedly told him that he was not happy over the crisis in Ohanaeze Lagos State, which threw the body into two factions and that he wanted to restore peace in the State branch of the sociocultural organization.

During the meeting, Chief Iwuanyanwu was frank to Chief Aguene and told him that he cannot be Ohanaeze President through the back door after his tenure had elapsed by going to Court to obtain judgment whereas he was instrumental to the election by appointing the electoral committee and made Chief Oliver Akubueze as the chairman, who then conducted election and Chief Sunday Ossai emerged as President.

At the meeting, Chief Aguene reportedly told Iwuanyanwu that he was ready for peace but that he should not be disgraced out of office and therefore, he is seeking for a meeting of the stakeholders, where he will be given soft landing and he will hand over properly to Chief Ossai.

The request was accepted by Chief Iwuanyanwu, who promised to come to Lagos very soon to finally restore peace in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State and Chief Aguene will publicly step down.

Since the outcome of the meeting between Chief Iwuanyanwu and Aguene got exposed, it became clear to the faction following Aguene that they have finally lost out and some have started moving their loyalty to Chief Ossai.

P.M.EXPRESS had earlier reported that the President General of Ohanaeze Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has expressed disappointment on the leadership of Ohanaeze in Lagos State and blamed the whole thing on the emergence of the leaders of both factions.

While Chief Sunday Ossai was introduced to Chief Iwuanyanwu as the authentic President of Ohanaeze by his faction based on the election they conducted that produced him, Chief Iwuanyanwu was said to have distanced himself from Chief Aguene because he saw Aguene as Lagos High Court Ohanaeze President, which has never happened in Ohanaeze history.

While Chief Aguene has been fighting hard to be recognized, Chief Iwuanyanwu was said to have made it clear to him and in public that he will not work with him based on the information he has that his tenure had elapsed and he went to Court and obtained Consent Judgment against the norms of Ohanaeze.

Chief Iwuanyanwu may have chosen softlanding for Aguene in order to restore lasting peace in Ohanaeze Lagos State as some of the Igbo stakeholders have been clamouring for the reorganization of Ohanaeze in the State to restore the confidence of the Igbo people in the Igbo Apex sociocultural organization in Lagos State.

When our correspondent contacted Chief Aguene, he confirmed that he had a meeting with Chief Iwuanyanwu on how to move Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State forward but declined to confirm that he will step down and hand over to Chief Sunday Ossai as he had earlier said in public functions trending on the social media.
