Ohanaeze – Nwodo: Understanding The Difference

The Nwodos have remained both protagonists and beneficiaries of a dysfunctional Nigeria System. From having a former Governor of Enugu State to asserting control on a hitherto pan Igbo sociocultural group. The Nwodos bear great personal stake in this changing system that informs their choices and decisions on key National issues.

No one really questions the decision of a petty-bourgeois dynasty solely enthused by the preservation of their vested interest and dwindling hegemony. What troubles observers is the misconception they create with the supposition that their personal interest is, somehow, representative of the overall interest of an acephalous Igbo Nation.

It is important we remind the Nwodos that a people like ndi Igbo cannot be held in self inflicted servitude to the advantage of a few bourgeois whose interests are non-reflective of our common good.

Nnia Nwodo and his Co PDP apologists gathered yesterday to reaffirm their long known support for the Atiku/Obi ticket – no troubles. As a pan Igbo group, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo’s motif should be to galvanize the diverse interests of ndi Igbo irrespective of political party affiliations.

To have nuanced that the totality of ndi Igbo are pitching for the PDP and Atiku is enough to show Chief Nnia Nwodo and his errant Executives the exit door. Where that is impossible, we can only resort to stating the fact as it is. Yesterday’s endorsement is the contrived personal decision of the Nwodos and their loyalists.

The Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo we would respect is that which recognizes the interests of all Igbo Sons and daughters across board no matter how insignificant.
