OJB Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, was launched on Thursday 20th June, 2019, in Lagos.

The launching of the foundation, which took place at Watercress Hotel, 48 Oritshe Street, Ikeja, Lagos, drew a large crowd of friends, political leaders, associates, and beneficiaries.

In his address at the event, President & Founder of OJB Foundation, Hon. Olaide John Bello, explained that the foundation is offering a wide range of community services such as helping the needy, widows relief assistance, provision of school uniforms, exercise books and school bags for pupils and students, assisting the sick and provision of basic working tools/equipment for artisans amongst others.

In his words, “Over the past 3 years, we have been able to identify key areas to make life better for the less privileged within the communities around us and have tried our best to provide for their immediate needs which varied from person to person. All these have helped lay a good foundation and antecedent for what we are doing today. The launching marks the beginning of good things to come as we have many programmes, incentives and initiatives which are poised to lift people’s burdens. I dedicate the success of today’s event to my boss and mentor, Mr. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde (Chief of Staff to the Governor of Lagos State)”.

Mr. Tayo Ayinde, who was represented by Apostle Akintoye Adewole, applauded the efforts of the young and vibrant President of the foundation, Hon. Bello, in his bid to ameliorate the plight of children, the indigent and the widows in the society. He encouraged other young men to look at ways of making their environment better for the good of all.

Lending his voice, Cardinal James Odumbaku, popularly known as Baba Eto, who was represented by Hon Shittabey, said the society will be a better place for all if the plight of the less privileged is considered a major priority. He praised Hon. Olaide Bello for coming up with the foundation at this time.

The Chairman, Forum of Past Councillors (FPC,Ikeja Federal Constituency), Hon. Edward Aragbonfoh, also eulogized the brain behind the concept for setting the pace for the youths in Ikeja Federal Constituency. He said that many would have seen the gesture as a political stunt if it had come before now. He praised OJB for being a loyal party by stepping down and joining forces with eventual choice of the party during the recent House of Assembly primaries of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State.

Other leaders and political associates who graced the occasion included Alhaji Atinshola, Bimbo Oshikoya, Baba Tadeco, Funke Akindele, Hon Seidu, Hon Akerele, Olalekan Oni, among others.

High point of the event was the presentation of school bags, school sandals and exercise books to the representatives of different schools, handing of sewing machines & grinding machines to beneficiaries, presentation of cash gifts and other materials to widows and hair dressers.

The highly elated beneficiaries showered prayers on Hon. Bello, asking the Almighty to continue to provide for him and his foundation.
