The Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in partnership with Lagos State Health District VI, is marking the 2025 World Breastfeeding Week at all Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) within the LCDA.

This year’s edition is taking place from 1st to 7th August, 2025, under the theme “Prioritise Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems,”. The week-long event is focusing on raising awareness about the critical role of breastfeeding in reducing child mortality and enhancing maternal health.

According to the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, this initiative reflects the Council’s commitment to “reducing maternal mortality through improved child health”.

Daily sessions will run from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, offering educational talks, demonstrations, and resources for mothers, families, and healthcare providers. The exercise is focused on educating and empowering mothers and caregivers about the lifelong benefits of breastfeeding.

Teeming members of the Ojodu community are encouraged to participate actively and support breastfeeding as a foundation for a healthier future.
