Okeowo Declares Zero Tolerance To Drug Peddling & Abuse

The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area, Lagos State, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has declared that his administration will leave no stone unturned in the fight against the peddling of drugs and substance abuse in the Local Council.
Okeowo during the last monthly Peace and Security meeting held last week inside his conference room with heads of security agencies and some stakeholders described drug substance abuse as an enabler of crime and criminality warned those perpetrating the act to desist from it in their best interests or face the wrath of the law.
The council boss said that his administration have zero-tolerance policy towards dangerous drugs, and will not tolerate drug-related activities. Law enforcement agencies will continue to take enforcement action to combat illegal products. The Government will also continue to provide public education through various channels to help members of the public, especially young people, to correctly understand the dangerous effect of drug abuse.
Meanwhile, the two Divisional Police Officers of Layeni Police Station and Pako Police Station, CSP Adaora Dimaka ably represented by her DCO and CSP Bawa Malik, while giving their reports said that the last Yuletide and Ileya festival remained the most peaceful period since they were deployed to their respective divisions as they commended Mayor Okeowo for giving them adequate supports in discharging their duties.
They both pledged to continue to discharge their duties diligently in collaboration with other security agencies to make the communities hitherto serene devoid of crime and criminalities.
