On Fuel Subsidy Removal!

There is a huge moral burden the Labour Movement in Nigeria especially NLC and TUC must bear. The two labour unions adopted Mr. Peter Obi, who, as part of his campaign promises and as clearly enunciated in his economic blueprint, stated that he would remove fuel subsidy on his first day in office.

Mr. Obi described fuel subsidy as a fraud, a canon fodder for what he labelled as the “Nigeria criminal enterprise”.

During the campaigns, many people pointed out the contradictions in NLC /TUC adopting a candidate, who made removal of fuel subsidy a key campaign point, the very idea the Labour Movement is ideologically opposed to.

The NLC and TUC can’t come out now to say they are against fuel subsidy removal because their adopted candidate didn’t win an election.
