In its continued drive to ensure peace and security, the Orashi National Congress, ONC, has paid a familiarisation visit to the Ahoada Area Commander, ACP Cecy Brown.
Speaking during the visit, the President General of Orashi National Congress, Snr. Comrade Emeni Ibe, thanked ACP Cecy Brown for giving the group the opportunity to pay her a visit as the new Ahoada Area Commander.
Comrade Emeni Ibe said, “Indeed, our people are filled with joy that knows no bounds having reposed confidence in the efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies for doing the needful recently”.
“We lack words to express our profound gratitude. Just within the short period of your posting to the Area, there has been serious work within the office and the Command has been a face lift. All we can say is a “big thank you” to the Commissioner Of Police for posting you as the Area Commander.”
“We equally use this opportunity to appeal to the Federal Government and the Police authorities to prevail on agencies like NDDC to site building and upgrading of the Area Command, including officers quarters etc. as in the case in other areas of the Niger Delta. It is interesting to note that this Area Command is the oldest in the Niger Delta and has served the interest of the multinationals.”
In response, ACP Cecy Brown charged the ONC to advise the youths of the region to shun criminality and cultism.
“Where there’s no peace, the people lack development. I am here to work with you people; my office is your office. Feel free to call me at anytime.”
“Let us work together to end insecurity in Ekpeye Land (Ahoada) and Orashi region at large, because an outsider cannot come and make peace here when the people are not ready to make peace” she said.
In the vote of thanks, Hon. Barr. Ben Eke, the Executive Chairman of Ahoada East LGA, who was present at the meeting, appreciated the leadership of the group for their peaceful disposition and also charged the group to sensitizes the youths on incessant use of hard drugs.
