Leading the delegation, the President General of the ONC, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe, expressed profound appreciation to Prof. Akujuru for his consistent efforts in promoting peace and mutual understanding between host communities and industrial operators, particularly within the oil and gas sector. He assured him of continued cooperation and support of the Congress.
Amb. Comrade Ibe noted that the Orashi National Congress is an independent socio-cultural umbrella organization committed to advocating sustainable security, industrial harmony, peace, national unity, and justice, while encouraging dialogue and engagement with relevant stakeholders in conflict resolution.
Following a careful assessment of his performance and impact, the Congress honoured Prof. Akujuru with a Certificate of Excellence in recognition of his immense contributions to humanity and regional development.
In the same vein, the Congress also honoured one of his managing partners, Mr. Umah Akeodi, with a Certificate of Excellence for his commitment, dedication, and notable contributions to development within the Orashi region.
In his response, Prof. Victor Akujuru thanked the Orashi National Congress for finding him and his staff worthy of the recognition, describing the gesture as highly motivating. He advised the Orashi people to always engage qualified professionals when dealing with oil companies operating in the region, stressing that professionalism is key to achieving meaningful and sustainable development.
He further observed that the activities of some individuals within community committees often undermine collective progress, calling for sincerity, competence, and accountability in the pursuit of development.
The visit concluded on a cordial note, with both parties reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, cooperation, and the overall advancement of the Orashi people.
